    Mark please excuses me for not getting back to you earlier. My choice for tubes I tried to get the best bang for the buck first of all, but not skimp.
    I personally like to sound of the EH EL 34, it's very bright and snappy, and the cost is great probably about $50 American for a quad.
    I use the EH 12ax7 because it's reasonably quiet and have a great gain in tone.
    I use the Mullard 12ax7 because it seems to do well in the tone stack/cathode follower.
    I use the JJ ECC83 because of its durability in the phase inverter we are not worried about tone, just the ability to take the high voltage and remain intact
