Also, since this is your first tube amp. Start up and shut down is important. Make sure you warm it up first. Turn the power on (first switch on the left ) and let it warm up at least five minutes before you turn the standby switch to on. I also turn the volume on the guitar way down and strum a few notes, then a few chords, before letting it rip completely. Not always possible if you are doing a live show of course. Reverse the procedure when shutting down. Turn the standby switch off first, give it a couple of minutes, and then you can turn the power switch off. This extra care will really make your tubes last a whole lot longer. They need to warm up and cool down properly.

Hi Riffrider. Welcome. This is a great forum and I have learned alot. The Eurotubes website is the place to go for info on tubes. There is a video on how to bias the dsl, but also read all the tips and FAQ's as they contain tons of important info as well. Cleaning the contacts is especially important when changing tubes. Hey there Poeman,
I am brand spanking new to this forum, and just noticed you said you have the Marshall 2000 DSL 50 watt, am I correct? If so, is there any videos, or tips you could possibly post me on how to fit new valves into this baby? I recently got the 100 watt, and it is my first valve amp, and I have no clue where to even start!

    Many thanks,
    Riffrider
