Still waiting on Alan. Hell, I went out to eat dinner with my sister and killed two hours and he hasn't shown his face yet. Might be 9 PM before we get the winner posted.

    Hi Mickey.
Went through the cap operation. Started with a 3.3uF, then went to the 2.2uF. I had one more, 1uF. I stopped at the 2.2. Man she roars now. I turned the mid pot to zero and there was my sound. It tightened up in an incredible way. I may immagine it, but it feels like itīs better sounding over the whole register. Wish I could post a demo but the mic in my mac wouldnīt cope. You have to crank it a bit, like 10 oīclock. Seems little but trust me, these 100w are loud. Thatīs my volume with the band. The original value was 250uF/25V.
I looked it up on where to measure the cathode voltage and concluded that it was on pin 3. I had +90mv. I put the red probe on pin 3 and black to ground, chassis. That has to be wrong, right?
    Many thanks dude

I sent it in a private message because it was too long of an answer.

Man, Iīm sorry to bother you with my petty questions, but I trust in your wisdom. I`m lost in the cap world. How do you choose between all the types, paper in oil, paper in wax, polypropylene, mylar film? Then the voltage. Iīm talking about that cathode bypass cap we discussed, but also in general. Is there a way to decode this stuff?
    I`ve been looking at these:Ampohm 2 2uF Paper-in-oil Aluminium-foil Audio Capacitor 630V

    Many thanks in advance.

Yeah...from time to time. Joey texted me about the FX loop someone wants installed, and the user also PM'd me, so I am doing some "housecleaning" today on my forum account while I'm here. Nice to see you filling the "void" in our absence, good sir!
