Yeah, some people are hung up on playing a certain way, maybe I am too. I jammed with some guys that played in drop d flat for a little while and I just played in d flat standard and never had a problem keeping up. I figure it's no use mentioning those kind of details back on the drop tuned thread since it seems like no one really gets what I was talking about. It's better I just let that one go.
I personally think you would have more options in a standard type tuned band, no matter how low you actually tune.
I've always like C standard. I've felt like it was as low as you can go without losing integrity in your tone. I like a lot of bands that play in B-standard too but I think C just sounds a little better.

I've seen tranny companies sell their JCM2000 trannie's under "newer model" Marshall's. Generally the 800 was a different P/N. I will say this, as long as the specifications are close it will work. Can you send me a link on the company and I will take a look. I also found a JCM output tranny for a guy. It was made in China, but it looked well made. To be blunt, there's not a whole lot to making a transformer.

Its a great head unfortunately its in the shop getting repaired. I had it for a year and a half when power tube blew and it took out a couple resistors on the foot switch board.
