Those 47uf caps really darken the tone. Are you trying to make it sound like a 18W TMB amp?
I pulled two power tubes...so now a 50W amp into a 100W speaker. Is this still risky?
Thanks guys! Won’t be cranking it, just setting the MV below noon!
Now i don’t have a bias probe or anything. Is it safe if I pull two power...
I’m thinking of setting the preamp at 6.
Speaker is a carvin GT12 100W speaker, cab is a Marshall 1x12 from a Marshall 5010 combo.
I’ve been using this 2203 clone that i modded with the Dookie Mod into a single 1x12 for a few months now. I use at bedroom volumes...
I want to...
Would i need to rebias the amp if i wire it Marshall style?
I also noticed that in the power tubes pins 1 and 8 are not grounded like on a Marshall. How does this impact the tone?
Correct. It’s so weird...it is what it is.
Jesus christ...was messing with the master volume pot and pulled it and the hum stopped...
So i put on the washer and bam! LOL! hum gone!
It only hums with the PI tube in.
I’ve tried that^ already with no luck...should i look in the mixer areas? (470k res/470p cap area)
Also, there’s a more prominent “buzz” when the master is at 12 o’ clock. Then it goes back to the hum from before once the master is maxed.
