It amazes me how stores will stock Marshall and Mesa/Boogie Guitar gear out the wazoo but hesitate to stock even one VBA400 or Titan. Of course I think Marshall should still be selling SuperBass heads.
I have only seen the Acoustic stuff on the web. I agree it looks like a great value.
Hey, have you ever played Acoustic bass amps? It looks like theyre only available through Guitar Center/Musicians Friend in the States, so I can't try them out, but they look good on paper and are reasonably priced, based on the reviews I'm tempted to buy one and take my chances (since I really just need something that makes noise, and dont have much of a sense of good bass tone) I haven't been able to try any Mesa amps either, despite the fact the local big chain has a ton of Boogie guitar amps, they dont carry much variety for bass stuff.
Cost and weight are 2 things that I'm worried about with tube amps, something that is more portable and reliable. Thats why I'm leaning towards the Terror, but if I can find something cheaper that would be cool too.
I've been looking at amps in the $500-$1000, I'd like to spend as little as possible, but I want to buy something worth investing in too. Bugera and Traynor each have 200w all tube models which appeal to me, but for about the same price I can get a 500w Orange Terror, more power is a plus, and I have experience with Orange and trust their gear (I almost bought a Terror before the C5, I still may one day) I'm not necessarily looking for a tube or hybrid amp, but from my experience as a guitarist I know I like valve tone, and most of my bass influences were using Fender, Marshall or Ampegs, which were all tube back then (to my understanding)
My friend, deep down - every guitar longs to play the blues. Even the BC Rich Bitches...
Heck, I even was doing a little blues on my 2 year old's Ukulele the other day.
