RE: Marshall DSL 401 vs. MG100HDFX
I think if you looked around, it wouldn't be too hard to find a used Marshall 1960a cab for about $350-$500.
Then get a used MG100HDFX for about $250 or so. And you would have an excellent half-stack for not a lot of $$$.
Then you'd have some great Marshall tone while you saved for an all tube Marshall head. Cause eventually you'll probably want one.
I just never cared for the DSL 401 at all. I found it too harsh sounding. Even with an extension cab.
I personally prefer an MG100HDFX through a 1960a cab over a DSL 401 any day!
But that's just me.
Let me know whatever you end up getting. And whatever it is..... I hope you enjoy it!!

Hey you recently comment on my post
dsl 401 vs mg100hdfx
im asking for a honest opinon
i know you've owned both amps so im
guessing you have a good view on both of them
if i was going to buy the mg head i would no doubt
buy a better cab maybe a second hand 1960a something like that
(haha talking like i no something, im a 13 year kid i dont no much about marshalls)
i play in a band, we practice every sunday, we have the occasinal gig
just like school recitals and stuff, i love hard rock
(g'n'r,motley crue,foo fighters,ozzy,black sabbath) that kinda stuff
i play les pauls, there my favorite guitar love the sound
my only other amp is the mg30dfx so i would be impressed by
anything really, as i am a kid, i dont no if a tube would be a good idea
i dont know how hard they are to keep, but ive herd there no walk in the park
and solid states seem easier to keep, but you own both types so hopefully
you can help me out there.
so thats pretty much it (sorry for the long message i just want to help you out as much as a i can)
i hope you can help me make my descision on the amp
Thanks!!
