Dude! Did you get the Egnater? For me, the Hot Plate is huge. Got an Epi LP Standard and it really plays and sounds great---no matter what they say, it's a beautiful piece. I set the Hot Plate to -12dB and turn on the high and low boost. I run the guitar to the 10 band EQ---I just think it makes sense to shape the sound before hitting other pedals and I didn't notice anything magical happening when I ran it in the FX loop. I then go to the OCD and if needed the mini Deja'Vibe. I also have a Carbon Copy in the FX loop. I am very pleased. Last weekend I was nailing the tone on Collective Soul's "Shine". Also GNR's "Heaven's Door" was dead on the tone. Haven't played the Strat in months, but I'm just digging the whole Les Paul thing, which is totally different and opened a lot of new doors musically---stuff like Zepp, ZZ Top, GNR, etc.....Rock on!
How you liking the 900 now? I just got a THD Hotplate and it really rocks. Got it used on Craigslist for $200. New, with tax, would have run $350. That's way too much, in my opinion. With a high and low switch in conjunction with the 10 band EQ, I don't notice any "tone sucking".
Yes i did....Sweet Amp!!!! Even on the low setting with the preamp dimed and the sensitivity on like 17-18 and the master on like 4 its really loud!!!! Right now i have just a Boss DD6 delay in the loop..but my future plans include a SD pickup booster, a MXR chorus, and the MXR 10 band EQ.
