Hey AV I hoped was a little help there Bro! I never did understand why they did that on the 4100's. Don't tell anyone I knew anything about an amp made after 1983 LOL It will ruin my reputation as being an old fart.

I just liked the challenge. It was a lot harder to play our old stuff that we wrote in drop while I wwas in standard and I'm already used to the fresh new stuff in standard. You were right though... it's making me a whole lot quicker. I think sometimes people like to argue for the sake of argument. It may have nothing to do with their personal tastes at all... just looking for a point to argue.

So I tried something new out the other day... a band I play bass in has always played in drop C and with the new music being ultra melodic metal I made a suggestion to them. I told them I was going to start playing in standard C and I thought that they would be up to the challenge of learning most of what they wrote in C standard... But they were like... "Do you know how freakin' hard that'd be?!!" so I did it anyway and am thinking about switching to standard D flat for my band I play guitar in. I'm tinkering with it at the moment...

I thought that was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. I did dabble in them for a few months but yea... definately didn't hate myself as a teenager.

Yes I have clips of all three amps. Can we host them directly or do I need to use an offsite? As far as final ready to play, it takes a month including building the Poplar wood boxes for a complete job.

Cool. I've noticed that Chet's family sold the rights to his name back over to Gretsch...

Its a 6120 Setzer Hot Rod with TV Jones pickups in it. I've also got a 5120 Electromatic that I put TV Jones pickups in as well for my backup. I've looked at vintage ones before but rather beat the hell out of the re-issues.

    Thanks for the welcome man.

    Hi
Fellow JCM800 user here. I have pretty much always used 1960 cabinets with the G12T-75 speakers and thought they were a good match to the JCM800. It seems most forum users here prefer the V30 or even others like the Greenbacks/Heritage when it comes to Marshalls. What do you use and what are your experiences on speakers with the JCM800 ?

    Thanxs
    Trond
