Cool. I've noticed that Chet's family sold the rights to his name back over to Gretsch...

Its a 6120 Setzer Hot Rod with TV Jones pickups in it. I've also got a 5120 Electromatic that I put TV Jones pickups in as well for my backup. I've looked at vintage ones before but rather beat the hell out of the re-issues.

    Thanks for the welcome man.

    Hi
Fellow JCM800 user here. I have pretty much always used 1960 cabinets with the G12T-75 speakers and thought they were a good match to the JCM800. It seems most forum users here prefer the V30 or even others like the Greenbacks/Heritage when it comes to Marshalls. What do you use and what are your experiences on speakers with the JCM800 ?

    Thanxs

It changes when I've just got it turned on and plugged into the cab, it slowly goes up. I know for the first few minutes a little bit of drift is normal, but it keeps drifting like 30 minutes after I set it. And not just like 35 - 36 - 35 again, like 35 - 45

Hey dude, in regards to your post on that JCM900 6L6-EL34 mod thread.

I have a JCM900 that takes 5881s, and I installed KT77s as recommended by Eurotubes, but the bias wouldn't stay put (If I set it anywhere between 32 and 40 it'd just go either up or down) as a result, I almost red plated them (Just saved them, turned the amp off as soon as it started humming). I've taken it to a tech since then, and they've got it working perfectly fine with 6L6's (I even printed them off an email with instructions of how to get the correct bias and what might be causing the bias to not stay put and they still said they couldn't get them to work).

Now my question (Sorry for the long intro). Do you know if there'd be a problem with my amp causing this, and what should I have set the bias at (Plate voltage in JCM900s can range from 475 to 500)

    Hey American Viking,

My name is John, LPJohnny here on the boards. I own a
    JCM 800 2205 (50 W), and am considering looking for a
    2204 (50 W). I've heard the 2204 has a better tone (lows,
and low mids), and I understand that the early vertical input
models are more rugged.I'd be interested in some feedback
from you (a fair price, where to possibly look). I'd like to avoid
evil bay if possible. Please email direct at lyndathompson@peoplepc.com. Thx!
    LPJohnny

    PS-I dig Johnny Thunders.

thanks for the information. You said the 2203 responds VERY WELL to a boost, would this also imply that you could get really good saturation and gain without cranking it past 3 or 4 using a good boost? I use a fulltone bass drive for my clean boost. I also have a mxr micro amp. I find that these don't color the tone much if any.
