    Hi American Viking,

I read your comments on one of the threads reg. TSL 100 and 1960. You sound like you know your stuff well. Well, I just bought a half stack just this week.

A few questions for you, if you dont mind:

I read so much about TSL 100 and how versatile it is supposed to be. I dont seem to get things straight with this.

I cant imagine how one could get a good metal sound out of this. The crunch channel cant be bothered for power chords, or at least I wasnt able to get a proper sound out. I play mainly prog. metal, do you think I should use the crunch for that matter or go to the Lead channel?

The manual says I cant connect distortion to the loops. How am I supposed to use my effect, Boss Metal Core, with this head and cab? I was actually hoping not to use any effects with this set up. But I dont think the TSL 100 and 196o could do it without additional effects.
Would really appreciate your expert comments.

    Best

Hey AV I hoped was a little help there Bro! I never did understand why they did that on the 4100's. Don't tell anyone I knew anything about an amp made after 1983 LOL It will ruin my reputation as being an old fart.

I just liked the challenge. It was a lot harder to play our old stuff that we wrote in drop while I wwas in standard and I'm already used to the fresh new stuff in standard. You were right though... it's making me a whole lot quicker. I think sometimes people like to argue for the sake of argument. It may have nothing to do with their personal tastes at all... just looking for a point to argue.

So I tried something new out the other day... a band I play bass in has always played in drop C and with the new music being ultra melodic metal I made a suggestion to them. I told them I was going to start playing in standard C and I thought that they would be up to the challenge of learning most of what they wrote in C standard... But they were like... "Do you know how freakin' hard that'd be?!!" so I did it anyway and am thinking about switching to standard D flat for my band I play guitar in. I'm tinkering with it at the moment...

I thought that was one of the funniest things I've ever heard. I did dabble in them for a few months but yea... definately didn't hate myself as a teenager.

Yes I have clips of all three amps. Can we host them directly or do I need to use an offsite? As far as final ready to play, it takes a month including building the Poplar wood boxes for a complete job.
