Please Help! Impedance Q - JCM 900 4100

Ok, first of all I don't know shit about this stuff so would appreciate your expertise!

I have a hot rodded JCM 900 4100 and a cab w/ four 12 " Mesa Celestian Black Shadows MC-90 90 Watt 8 ohms that needs to be re wired

First of all, my JCM 900 has a 16 ohm and 8 ohm setting...should I use the 8 ohm setting?

And second, the guy keeps asking me how I want my cab to be wired as far as impedance...any suggestions?

Thanks!

If they're all 8 ohm speakers, tell him to wire it series-parallel. This will give you an 8 ohm cab, in which you would run 8 ohms on the amp as well.

If when you say "series-parallel" he doesn't know what you mean, find someone else to wire your cab.

Yup. The only thing I might add to that is that people who don't know things are notorious for acting like they do. If you aren't sure about the tech, ask him how many ohms it should be if he wires it series-parallel. If he doesn't say 8 ohms without having to think about it, you probably don't want him doing the work.
