Differences between the JCM2000 TSL and the JVM410H?
Hey guys
I'm considering selling/trading my orange rockerverb 50 and was wondering what peoples opinions are on these two amps? What are the differences and what one do you prefer? |

Re: Differences between the JCM2000 TSL and the JVM410H?
I'm guessing you know the obvious differences, like the number of channels, etc.?
As for tonal differences, I feel like the JVM is a lot more compressed sounding. It does have really great cleans, better than the tsl in my opinion, but I felt the TSL had a better distorted sound. The JVM has more gain and is more flexible with the extra channels/modes, but to my ears sounded a little grainy and more compressed. You really have to hear them for yourself to know. It is really hard to describe opinions on tone. I prefer the TSL, because 3 channels is more than enough for most, and they're really not to complicated to dial in a good tone. The TSL100 also has the reduced power mode to where it will run at 25 watts which is really cool. the jvm to me was really complicated to dial in my tones. I also feel like there is just too much going on with it. I would never use all of the modes in a real application, like playing live, etc. It could be fun to sit around at home all day dabbling with it, but personally I prefer a more simple circuit for ease of playability and tone #1, and maintenance #2. That is why I play the vintage modern and the JCM 800 single channel. One thing is for sure, either one of these amps is a far cry away from your rockerverb 50. I hope you know the tonal differences and are sure you want to switch, because they sound vastly different. |
