DSL401 Tube Socket problem
So this is my first post
LolI've had a 2nd hand dsl 401 since the end of june , all seemed fine until about 2 weeks ago i heard crackling when i switched it on . So i tapped all the pre-amp tubes with a pencil and the third one from the right was a trouble maker . So got 4 sovtek 12ax7wb's and put them in . Turns out however thaht the tube socket 2nd from the right is slightly wonky ![]() Doesnt appear to be a big problem and the amp sounds great what should i do? Thanks

Re: DSL401 Tube Socket problem
I'm gonna bump this.........."Bump!"
If the socket is loose, I believe the common fix is to use some sort of NON CONDUCTIVE material, i.e. a toothpick, and bend the prongs back to a tight fit. Once again: BUMP

Re: DSL401 Tube Socket problem
What made you pick the Sovtek WB's? They are horrible and are prone to being microphonic in a combo like the 401. I wouldn't put anything Sovtek in my amp.
I hope you have good luck with yours.
