Hey everybody, wondering if you could provide some advice regarding an emulated line out function on my newly aquired Marshall MG15 MSII amp....
(Sorry if this is a duplicate, if its going to be bumped please point me to a thread that may help - I did try looking, but there's hundreds of pages!!) I've seen a couple of threads regarding similar issues, but not the one I'm having at the moment... Basically I want to record into my PC from my Marshall Amp which I do through an M-Audio USB Interface. The M-Audio works fine, have tested many times with my Line 6 amp. I plug a 1/4 cable into the Emulated line out and the other end 1/4 into my usb pre-amp. I get sound coming out of the amplifier, but nothing at all is being picked up by my PC. There is no signal at all hitting the pre-amp. I've tried loads of different things to get this to work... Using a stereo 1/4 to 1/4 Mono 1/4 to 1/4 XLR to 1/4 Even plugging directly into my PC's line in.... STILL NOTHING. Its really starting to wind me up now After playing my new Marshall, my Line 6 just doesnt sound good enough anymore, and thats all I can use for my recording at the moment. ![]() (As a side note, if i pluge the 1/4 to 1/4 cable into the headphone socket, but dont push it alll the way in, I get a signal into my PC, but it sounds all thick and bassy) Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance. Tom |

Re: Marshall MG15 MSII
1.Check the properties of the Playback and Record function of the pc soundcard in windows and set Line-In as your default.
2.If you really want to get better sound results with recording your guitar tracks. Look into Tascam 122L or the 144 at TASCAM 3.There's USB Microphone's out there where you can plug straight into your pc. |

Re: Marshall MG15 MSII
Hi, Thanks for the reply...
There is nothing wrong with the pre-amp, it works fine for everything else. The setting in windows and in my recording software are all set correctly. I currently have it setup running from my Line 6 into my PC, I can record and everything works as expected. But I want to record from my Marshall; So... I take the cable out of the 'line out' of my L6 amp and then plug it into the 'emulated line' out of the Marshall - I get no signal at at all!! : ( |

Unfortunatley i still havent got anywhere with this. Been scouring the web and nothing seems to work.
I dont know how many different cables or configurations I can use to get this to work. I was told recently that you can apparently call Marshall, and as long as you pay for P&P - send your cab into them and they will check it out and fix it for free???! Don't know if thats true or not. |
