marshall wont turn on
I have a marshall valvestate 8080 and i was just jamming out at about a quarter of its volume and then I turn the volume up really quick, then it made a big bassy noise... i imediatly shut it off and tried a new plug and then when that dident work i changed the speaker and that dident work either... the valve inside looks like nothing is wrong with it but I forgot to check the fuze before I put it back together, is there any chance it is a fuze, becuae i reallly dont have to get it fixed for 40$ and hour at my local shop...

Happened to me once and I was scared, but it was just a fuse. You probably figured this one out by now. |

The tube should be fine though, and yeah, check the fuses. You'll just be able to take the chassis out and look at the fuses.

About the amp still buzzing, that's too bad. I'd have it checked out. |

Re: marshall wont turn on
I also have a valvestate 8080 that doesn't turn on. I pulled a bonehead move when I (this is / was my setup) - Guitar plugged into Wah then Overdrive then Distortion and a Boss DD2-Delay with 2 outputs, one for "direct out" which went to a Peavey Deuce and then the "out" to the Valvestate 8080). It worked for a bit until I used the delay a couple of times. It then went dead and that's it. No lights / power etc. Tried different power cable and verified well known working wall plug. I'm new to amps but I'm assuming that the fuse would be the first thing to look for from what I've seen on posts. What would be the next step or two if the fuse is ok?
