Favorite JCM 2205 50w settings
Hi, very new to Marshall....always played fenders. Trying to make the switch but like the people say, they do sound different. I play clssic rock and blues along with Beatles, Stones, Doors and some ZZ, Van Morrison...little bit of everything. Using a 84 Strat and a R8 Les Paul. Any setting recommendatios would be welcome

Re: Favorite JCM 2205 50w settings
Hi, I don't own a 2205, but I've heard that Michael Schenker used them, and I found a picture of his settings, which are on the link below:

Re: Favorite JCM 2205 50w settings
I have a 2204, which I love. It is bright as hell, though - not sure if the 2205 is the same?
I had a retube and rebias done right away, as well as a cap job, which helped the tone a lot. My settings are generally: Full rock-out mode: Presence - 4 Bass - 7 Mid - 2-3 Treble - 2-3 Volume - 8 Gain - 3-4 Night-time jam/practice/write mode: EQ same Volume - 1 Gain - 8 I roll the guitar volume knob up/down for various levels of rhythm crunch (rarely play rhythm with guitar volume at full), and I'm currently using a Keely Java Boost and an Expandora for lead boosts. Have fun! |

Re: Favorite JCM 2205 50w settings
I run the MV almost wide open, at 8. At that point, there's not much of a volume increase between 8 and 10, more of an increase in saturation and tonal change, and I prefer the vibe at 8.
