Silver Jubilee bargain...
hello
I've found what seems to be a stock condition 2553 silver jubilee head for only $915. I'm deeply considering to buy it but ain't 100 percent sure as I already have 2x 2555 silver jube heads... As I have never tried a 2553 head or any other silver jubilee 50W, I would appreciate any info about the 50W version sound. Purely from what I've read, the 100W does not seem to be much louder than the 50W soundwise. Instead, the 100W have a 'meatier' sound and some more headroom than the 50 watter. However, the 100 watters do have 4 output tubes where the 50 watter has two... Does this mean, technically speaking, that the 50W has a shriller, brighter, lack of bottom end kinda sound?? On the other hand, I've read about the 50W jubilee versions having enormously more amouts of bass response (see reviews of the 2550 and 2553 on harmony central). So All you jubilee owners, chime in with your opinions of the different jubilees, thoughts about my purchase, pros. and cons. etc. ![]() |

Re: Silver Jubilee bargain...
Hmm, I've never heard that about the 50's having more bass. That goes against what I would've expected.
I recently got a 2555, but I've never heard or tried a 50 watter.
