My first Marshall purchase.....Artist 3203

so a couple weeks ago I'm looking on eBay for another 1965A or B cab for a epi jr. I bought not too long ago. I've had these cabs in the past & loved them. I do my search & along w/ a few cabs pops up a Marshall Artist 3203 with matching A & B cabs. Guy wants like $1699 OBO. He's got them listed as limited edition of some sort with gold piping & gold/blk basketweave cloth and black tolex. So I start investigating & find the gold/blk cloth & gold piping was part of a limited edition set, but only with green tolex & he swears its' black. So I figure someone recovered them but its' still a nice setup & only 2 1/2 hours away so I make him an offer of $1250.....truly figuring he'd never take it. That night i get the reply he accepts, so today I make my way to Ohio to pick it up. I get there, play thru it, like it & all looks good....& I swear the tolex has a greenish hue to it but it was faint at best & all this time the seller is saying no, its' black. So to make a long story short I pay the guy & take the head out to the car & LOW & BEHOLD......i get in the sun & holy $hit batman....this thing is green as grass. Couldn't believe the difference natural sunlight makes........

So for $1250 I got a Artist 3203 Limited Edition Head & full stack & so far love this thing.....its' my first Marshall after many Fenders & Mesa's I had a blast today. The gain was great, but contrary to what most say about this amp I love the clean channel cranked up......has a very nice crunch to it. Can't wait to gig with it. Oh, best part and again to my surprise....opened it up to see what kind of tubes were in it.....a OLD Mullard 12AT7 for the PI & 2 OLD Siemens EL34......so much for having to upgrade tubes right away....

Re: My first Marshall purchase.....Artist 3203

Post a pic - I'd like to see. I've asked about a head and also a cab on ebay as well that I swore was green but the owners said they were black. I couldn't check them out in person and I'm not so sure they believed me that green (green/black) was a limited edition color. It's real. I had two cabinets at one time but down to one which I may sell/trade.
