Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
My local shop just got one in and unpacked it on Saturday. I was the first to try it. Three things kept me from taking it home:
1) money because I'd want the matching stack. 2) room because I'd want the matching stack 3) I already have those tones covered. The amp is loud enough to the point where I really wouldn't gain anything on the lower volume thing, but if I were starting out buying amps today, this would have been my first tube amp. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up. Good work, Marshall. It is really not that much lower volume than my 100W heads. Not a bedroom amp. Great studio amp. If you want a bedroom amp, get a cube 30X.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
Thought I would report one slight issue with my Haze 15:
When you switch channels - it takes about 1-2 seconds for the FX to change once your on the new channel. It really shows up when you have a delay setting on the lead channel and then you switch to the rhythm channel/clean sound with reverb only - the first chord will have the delay on it from the lead channel. I will be talking with the dealer tomorrow to see why this is.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
I was wondering if one could get the Haze 40 combo to distort at low volumes such as the way one can with the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 1 x 12. I strongly suspect that those EL34s sound as cool or even nicer than the 6L6s on the HRD, however I love some of them HRDs I've tried out before, I can't wait to try out the Haze combo!

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
I'm curious as to why the stack does not have a stand by switch, yet the combo does. Do you just turn the head on and wait for it to warm up? Do you just switch it off hot?

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
I got my Haze mid size stack on Friday. I have to say I'm not that impressed with it. It seems muddy to me. Also the distorted channel is leaking into the normal channel. It sounded like a speaker was blown while on the normal channel I couldn't figure it out. I isolated the speakers and they both did it. I kept playing and went to the distorted channel and it sounded fine. I switched back to the normal and turned the gain down on the distorted channel right before I switched back (just messing with the eqing of it before switching) and the noise went away. Looks like a design flaw. Shouldn't be leaking over. Anyway, it's ok but way too muddy. The effects are pretty nice I must say. The vibe is more like my MXR EVH Phase 90. Phaser down on lower setting and vibe like when turned up. Pretty cool.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
That's a shame that this thing isn't stacking up to the potential we thought it had. I was really hoping this thing would be a good thing for Marshall. Bring back the AVT please.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
I would agree with most of those posts. I have not played the combo, but suspect I may like it better with the EL34s. The stack with the 6V6 just doesn't have that Marshall crunch. Too smooth. It may be too muddy because of the lack of a presence control. I did like the Egnater Rebel, that amp had a great tone. I'll also add that the Haze stack is loud as hell. When pushed it seems as loud as my JSX head. Definitely not a bedroom amp by any means.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
The combo is a much higher wattage and uses different tubes. I think 6V6s can just be sent straight from power off to warmup/use.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
Hi, my name is Nessman, new here, this is my first post.
I got the Haze 15 head about two weeks ago and love it. I have several cabs I play it through, an open-back 1 x 12 with Celestion Goldback, a 1 x 12 closed-back with Eminence 125, and a 2 x 12 closed-back with Celestion Vintage 30s. Sounds good through all, but I like it best with the 2 x 12, sounds surprisingly big. I use several guitars with it, Gibson LP Studio, Gibson Faded SG, Fender American Strat and Fender American Tele. Again, sounds very good with all, but I especially like the LP through it, it is that old classic Marshall/Gibson tone. I play in a Classic Rock band and used this amp with the 2 x 12 for an outdoor July 4th gig this weekend. It had more than enough volume including the clean channel. In loudness this amp is very comparable to my Fender Blues Jr. which is a great amp and very loud. The Haze 15 is very similar here. I do not find the overdrive muddy, you have to EQ it properly. It has a surprising amount of low end, so especially live you have to dial some of it out, I had Bass at about 10 o'clock position. I use lots of Mids, had that maxed, and had Treble at about 2 o'clock position. I also use the Bright switch with my LP and SG, I turn Bright off with my Fenders. I am an old geezer, I love that 70's Marshall tone, so I had Gain at about 12-2 o'clock position, sounded fabulous to me. There were several other players in the crowd and they took great interest in the amp and came up and checked it out. They all said it sounded great. I thought so too. As far as that delay bleeding over, the manual says it was designed to do so on a channel change, you don't want your delay instantly cutting out, that would be obvious. So, it is supposed to do that. The clean channel is very bright at low volumes, but the highs roll off somewhat at higher volumes. I had Volume at about 10 o'clock and it was plenty loud and still clean. In fact, I rolled off the volume a bit with my guitar and it was still more than enough. I like the effects, I usually use a pedalboard, but used the amp's effects for this gig. The Echo and Vibe are especially good, the Chorus is not too bad either. All are very usuable. Oh well, know I'm new here, but I saw a few questions about the Haze 15 and thought I would answer them. I personally like this amp very much, much better than my DSL401 and an old Marshall solid-state I owned. I think it is a great amp. |

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
It's not the delay that was bleeding over, it was the ghosted distorted signal. When the normal channel was set to clean, you can hear a ghost signal in the background from the lead channel. I had the bass around 10 to 11 o'clock, mids 1 to 2 o'clock and same for the treble. Just too muddy for me. I need a presence control to get some sizzle. I'm also a big fan of EL34s, so it could be that 6V6s aren't for me. I like the Marshall crunch and this amp is too smooth for me.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
another new guy with just his opinion....
I got my haze 15 full stack this week and I LOVE IT... like posted above you have to roll back on the bass.. heck I have mine almost OFF. I am still messing with the setup to get "my tone" I don't care if its a "marshall" or a "fender" or a "randall" tone.. I want MY tone out of my amps.. and I also own a Fender Champ XD too and it sounds NOTHING like it... I am nothing but please with my amp... if anything the only complaint I have is the push buttons for the bright and channel switches just seem kinda cheap.. but they work fine... ![]() don't be hating on my guitar... that thing plays AWESOME and I love its sound with my new amp... I also have fender strats and teles and an Ibanez Artcore series guitar the Ibanez sounds absolutely beautiful as well as my Agile Top |

Watch those speaker magnets next to your TV monitor. Could be a problem for the monitor if they are too close to it.

Oh shit. I just learned something new. I didn't know they were not at risk from a magnetic field. My bad.

15 watt amps don't need them, my Blues Jr lacks one as well.

Re: Got my Marshall Haze 15 full stack!
I got the Marshall Haze Combo. After gigging out with it this Friday and Saturday I have to say I love the amp. Only downfall is trying to get an equal balance between the clean and overdrive channel (clean channel was set on 1.5 and overdrive was on 5. So I backed the gain down, added a Vox Satchurator pedal and it sounded fine. Also when using the footswitch (included with amp) to switch channel, there was a very noticable drop out between channels. Hopefully they Marshall worked this glitch out in the new 4 switch pedal. We do Boston, Jethro Tull (our singer plays a mean flute), Whitesnake style music so overall it worked great for me
