Re: The End Of Tube Guitar Amps!
I don't think that any of us on this forum have anything to worry about anytime soon .
i , like most on this forum , like the sound and feel of the tube amp , the modeling amp companies have done a great job so far , but still have some work to do . But i too would like to see a day where you could mix the best of both worlds to make a guitar rig that " really " has it all ..........i think that day is coming sooner than you think. Is the tube amp going to be phased out you ask ? NOT A CHANCE !! It seems that it must be hard to replicate the characteristics of a tube amp with the current technology So for this reason , i think the tube amp is here to stay !!! at least for a now !!!!

Re: The End Of Tube Guitar Amps!
There's a chance that tube amps will fade away.
Music is changing, as more electronic synth sounds get on the orad. Rock music nowadays is on stall, and it may fade out in the following centuries. Or may be not... I think that nobody has a crystal ball so all these discussion is pretty stupid! As far I know, the world may end tomorrow (hoepfully not lol) and so there'll be no music at all! The point is: don't try to forecast the future, as it will always be different than what u think! And don' forget that modellers will evolve, but tube amps will evolve too!!! The circuits remained the same, but, for example, a 12-channel amp like the JVM was unthinkable in the 80s... so the tube amp are getting more and more dotted with very useful functions |
