Different Jubilee circuits???
Hey!
Just found an interessting allegation about the Silver Jubilees. At this link: YouTube - Marshall Silver Jubilee 2550 it is claimed that the Silver Jubilees had two different kinds of circuits, depending on when it was made. The earlier jubilees should tend to have superior circuits than the latter ones... Does anyone of you know about this or heard about it? And does "the latter jubilees" refer to the silver jubilees being made in late 1987 or the black tolex version made from 1988-1990? Anyone? As an owner of two 2555 silver jubilees, respectively made in may and june 1987, I'm interessted in knowing about this new theory about such great amps. ![]() |

Re: Different Jubilee circuits???
Hello everybody!
Now I've actually found two circuit wiring diagrams for the Marshall silver jubilees. Anyways, now there is one diagram for the jubes having serial#'s pre 03100 and another one for post 03100 serial# Jubes. As the theory says the latter made jubilees tend to have more gain and a richer, fuller and overall 'meatier' sound this might have to do with the post #03100 circuit type and therefore be the technical, if not evidence, then indicator of the veracity in the claim about different jubilee circuits. Here is the pre-#03100 diagram: ![]() Here is the post #03100 diagram: ![]() Down in the left corner it is actually written that this is the type of circuit being used on post #03100 Jubes (used on models with serial# 03100-->)... Now, do you think this may make the earlier jubilees less attractive? |
