Joining the Marshall family! (DSL100 content)
After years of owning Mesas, I have sold all of them and have decided to join the Marshall family!
Just bought a JCM 200 DSL100 tonight. Hopefully it comes early next week! I can't wait! |

Grats! I would've kept at least one Mesa to have both flavors
![]() Be sure to try out new tubes (depending on which ones it currently has) and they definitely shape the sound of the DSL in a noticeable way. |

My list of Mesa amps is long: Rect-o-verb, Mark IV, Stiletto Trident, Mark V, Road King II, Royal Atlantic. Of all the Mesa amps I have owned, the Royal Atlantic was the winner for me. I really regret selling the amp. I sold all the Mesas and bought a Diezel VH4 (which I don't think I will EVER sell). No rush to buy another amp, just needed an inexpensive backup amp or an amp to take to gigs when I didn't feel like taking my VH4. |

For some reason, I never got along with the Mark V. Maybe it was the 6L6 tubes. The cleans were amazing, channel 2 was meh to me, and channel 3 just wasn't as awesome as on the Mark IV. It would be amazing if you can get Channel 1 of the Mark V, the 2nd gain channel (+ boost) of the Royal Atlantic, and Channel 3 of the Mark IV in one amp. That would probably be my ideal amp. |

They absolutely do. I was in two bands with the other guitarist using a rectifier..both times our sound was KILLER. The Mesa has the bottom that the Marshall doesn't have, and the Marshall has the sweet mids that the Mesa doesn't have. Its really a great mix. We are auditioning another guitarist next week. One of the reasons I am strongly considering him is due to that the fact he has a triple rec Mesa half stack!
