Trading Dual Rec for a JCM 800 2210
Looks like a good deal all around. Met a pleasent guy today that has a 1987 JCM 800 2210 he would like to trade for a High Gain tube amp. We settled on my 1999 Revision "G" Dual Rectifier. Both are nice amps but the 2210 has the mojo for me. Fair deal and I am excited. I now need to locate a 1960BV close by as I do not wish to pay $100 + for shipping. This will be a great Stereo set up with a 50 watt plexi for solo's and a Bogner Shiva for cleans. Nuclear option or are my meds kicking in, muscle relaxers, ambien and vodka. Time to write the lyrics.
RAaaaaaaant, lol sorry. ![]() David

Right on. I have taken the 2210 over every amp for 25 = years so far lol. I dig the Plexi's a lot too.

Great David and congrats! Let us know how it compares to your 1989 2210. Is the core tone the same?
Do you keep the reverb tank in yours? Thx! DP

Congrats David,
I have to admit I really dug your clips playing through that dual rec. However now that I have two splitters im with you all the way. Lot more dual recs floating around for sale and oh the tone of the split channel circuit. Glad to hear things are going well for you up north. |

The guy seems to be ruled by his girlfriend and keeps pushing the time back. He just ran out of time by my watch.
No big deal. I have a mint 1989 model. I hate being yanked around lol. ****ing guitarist's. David

Not really sure how it is over there, but here a Mesa Dual Rec sells for a lot more than what you'd get for a 2210.

Also, why not keep it? Could use some different flavors. Hell, run your Marshall and Recto together.

Re: Trading Dual Rec for a JCM 800 2210
They do sound full together. Probably will keep it. I found his add wanting to trade for a higher gain amp. He was pissed when I told him I was keeping it. Lol he called me a bitch lol (text). Hell I gave him 2 days to make the trade but he could not make the trip alone stating that his woman and her kid had to be with him and she was with her friends lmfao!!!! He pushed the time back all week end up to 8 last night then said it would be sometime this week. I told thanks for the interest but I can't spend anymore time on this. In addition I told him to keep the 2210 and put an OD in front of it.
If I want something I close the deal quick. |

David, w/all the GAS you've had going on, have you had a chance to try out a YJM100? I have a sneaking suspicion that you'd likely dig it (especially since you were thinking of adding a 1959 to the list). Could be a great fit for your style / tone!

I would like very much to play the YJM100 to "ensure" that all of available effects are out of the signal path as I prefer the Boss SD-1 and BBE Green Machine over the DOD pedals and the 1987X does not require a Gate. It is attenuated with a Alesis Quadraverb. David |

"Bitch" sounds like a stand up fella there. I have been overly fortunate in the trades that I have made. The equipment has always functioned as promised. That dual rec sounds good to my ears. After I heard your clip it def made an impression and I will have one at some point. I bet that guy wouldnt call you a bitch to your face if he seen those guns on ya.

If you pick up a dual rec try to run it like a 2203 using a OD pedal for compression and attack. My 20 year old took it to practice last night, said it was clear and cut like a knife and he is a Marshall guy too. |
