Not wanting to start a flame war but......
I'm ****ed off with these 1 watter's now. The best ones are out of the way and i can't be doing with waiting for the next two releases. I want to know what if anything proper is coming. There's a 2203x 6550 head that i really want but am stalling just in case there's a chance of an EPA auto bias model round the corner.

Dude, no disrespect man, seriously, but the entire paragraph makes no sense...suggest you revisit English 101.

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
I think what he's saying is that the entire 1 watter thing is pissing him off. The good ones are already gone and there are only two models left and he'll have to wait to see if they're something he'll want. In the meantime, there is another amp he wants but doesn't know if he should buy it because the 1 watters might be better, but there is no way to know at this time.

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
I hear there is a mg 100 watt equipped with one el34, one 6v6, one 88 and a 6550 with 18 12ax7's . This is Spose to be the new super deluxe highly saturated high gain monster flagship for Marshall.

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
get on the phone and give freddie fender a ring and say "hey marshall are going to get my money soon, how about making me 'the' amp and you get my money". and "put in a little switch so I get the 'fender' sound as well"! OR go down the 'Hookers' at least you might get a kiss when they take your money!

But joking aside, come on....Are people really excited about the last pair of 1's? I do think they are cool, especially the JMP but that's it now. The 1 watt thing is done, get a move on with the proper release. |

Maybe they will release the new Zakk Wylde 800 soon to satisfy your craving for a 2203 with 6550's.

All I can say is "ye of little faith". They said there would be something for everyone.
I also have to ask what amp it is you want that Marshall is currently not building?

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
Next big release is the JVM410JSh...... with that said there is nothing a good 800, JVM410h, or DSL100 can't deliver. I'd invest my money in that 800 rather than waiting for something you may or may not like thats not coming out for months.
I agree, the 1-watters didn't peak my interest one bit.

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
I remember a time when companies would put something out, and people would be like, "Awesome! This is great!" or "This thing sucks. I'm not going to get it." When did it change to, "WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GIVE ME MORE STUFF?!?!?"

Re: Not wanting to start a flame war but......
Speaking for myself, I have no interest whatsoever in any of the 1-Watt amps. I just can't justify the purchase of one simply because of financial reasons. To those who can, god bless. I've come to terms with the fact that I will most likely not own one (or more) anytime soon.
So in essence all this leaves for me 50th anniversary-wise is the ''big amp'' which will inevitably be revealed to us in September. I'm sure that I'm just as curious as most of you and I don't really see why tantrums have to be thrown simply because Marshall haven't released all of their stuff yet. If they would've gone and splooged their load in January of this year there'd be nothing to look forward to. As curious as I am about the conclusive products of the 50th anniversary, I'm even more curious about how Marshall are going to apply their newfound technology in any future amps (or current amps, or perhaps even the anniversary amp) The EPA and auto-bias are (in my opinion) truly the greatest innovations in guitar amplification that Marshall has come forward with in recent years. I can't even begin to describe how much I love these features on my YJM. So that was a whole load of nothing coming from me.. I guess the bottom line is that there's no reason to kick around about these things. It's a question of patience. No company in the world reveals everything they're up to, so there's no reason to expect that from Marshall. Marshall know they're a company with a group of very loyal customers and I'm certain that they won't let us down. Until then, I'll be playing my favourite amp and I suggest that everyone else should do the same. |

Re: Idea for The Marshall 'Mac Daddy' 50th anniversary amp
For starters, Marshall should re-release the most powerful amp they ever made - The Marshall Major 200 watt, model 1967 Lead. Maybe add power-scaling or VVR, switchable output tubes (KT88's, 6550, EL34's or ability to mix any combination of the above). And make the output section switchable from the original GEC designed ultra-linear design to traditional Marshall.
It could come in either Orange, red or purple, 60's style tolex. There are enough black Marshall heads out there.Use the original style piping and logo from the 60's era. Heck I'll give them my '68 plexi Major in exchange for one. That's my 2 cents. -Mike U. |
