Smile Marshall's Ugly duckling - CMI

Hello guys I thought you might like to see my CMI (cleartone musical instruments) made by marshall in late 1970s.

She sounds lovely is loaded with Mullards and has that point to point wiring.

I have never seen another blue one. I've seen a few black ones on the net. Is this the only blue one in existence?

She is called Marshall's ugly duckling, but I think she's beautiful.

I've also got some CMI blue tolex speakers too!

Does anybody know any more about these amps? I'd love to know if there are any more of these blue heads out there.

Thanks for looking

Re: Marshall's Ugly duckling - CMI

Never seen one before; what does it sound like?

And don't worry about it being 'an ugly duckling'... I think enough time has passed now for it to look really cool and retro. Remember, back in the 80's, Tweed on Fenders wasn't an option and was really uncool, as was a 60's/70's finish on a Marshall Head.

How times have changed eh?

If it sounds good then you can always get another cab with Marshall styling to suit your taste (though keep the original around hehe).

I don't dig the cab as much but the head is cool.

Wow, never seen one of those.

If you get a chance to post some sound clips I'd love to hear what that thing can do.

Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum.
