Can you please tell me about this 'Artiste' head..
Pro's and con's of this head would be great guys.. Thanks !

In Doyle's Marshall book, he implies that the Artiste series are very non-Marshall sounding Marshall. Don't break up the same as typical Marshall's of that era. So no, apparently they are not a 1959 with more features.

I have never heard them but people dont rave about them, and they seem to sit on ebay for weeks at a considerably low prce without being bought. So i get they opinion that they arent a desirable sounding amp.

I have the 50 Watt version from ´71 in my Museum. Last week I had
a visitor who plays Jazz and funky stuff. After an hour he said: The best Fender sounding Marshall Amp he ever played ! In my opinion the Artiste is a very good sounding Amp---clean. With a Hughes & Kettner Tubefactor he can be an Animal. I play the Artiste with a 4x15 Cab from the early seventies. Sigi M
