American Musical Supply ???

Hello All
I received a catalog in the mail the other day from American Musical Supply.
Have any of you ever heard of or received a catalog form them?
If so do you know if they are reputable?
Also any good or bad experience with them?
I have bought from Guitar Center.com, Musician's Friend.com and Sweetwater.com. and they have been okay.
Never heard of American Musical Supply.
Thanks for any information.

Re: American Musical Supply ???

I've been getting catalogs from them for about 4-5 years now. I've never bought anything from them though. They seem more expensive than everyone else?

I've used them many times and they are great. Their payment deals are sweet! All great transactions with them for me.

Re: American Musical Supply ???

Yes they are as reputable as GC and MF. Good outfit. Prices are par with MF so I only use them when MF is out of stock on something.

Re: American Musical Supply ???

I used to get great deals on GC and call AMS for price match because they don't tax out of state and free shipping. On each item, there is a 'price match - guarantee' link right below the price and usually you get 10-15% discount easily but there were couple occasions that they would not price match GC's 20% d/c. I stopped shopping there but they are reputable online music store like MF.

Re: American Musical Supply ???

The 3 best online mail order music companies are as follows:
www.sweetwater.com
www.zzounds.com
www.americanmusicalsupply.com

Hands down all 3 of these outfits comprise the trifecta of online music mail order. Any of these is a win win for you, and they are quick to fix, replace, and refund, and whatever else is necessary in providing premiere customer service. Not even GC can outdo what these guys do, and in some cases I myself have gotten better prices from them than GC in matching, and flat out across the board deals. On my band website, we have all 3 listed as backline suppliers.

I swear by AMS. They are great and they price match. They were the only ones with ESP cases for my George Lynch signature models. I highly recommend them.

I've shopped at their store in Seattle. Good people and good selection. Never dealt with the online version.

Thanks for sharing that! I'm tired of paying taxes when I get gear from MF. Years ago when I had a video business I spent thousands buying out of state and, never paid tax, just shipping. I always get the shipping free from MF, if they do free on both S&H and no tax, that is the way to go.
