Re: Where can I get a Dummy Load?
This is on the expensive/overkill side of things for what you are doing, but it is a very cool application as well. look up cabinet switcher or cabinet selector.
Here is one made by delisle for $200 Hand-Wired Effects Pedals $200 is certainly high when you consider a dummy load can be a couple of radio shack bits, but you are also getting more applications. This box would allow you to run three heads through one cabinet OR one head through 3 different cabs. That way you can switch between the 4100, the Super Bass (dry or slaved to 4100), and a third amp.

Re: Where can I get a Dummy Load?
Sweet, as I'm currently looking around for a JCM1 as well so this might be just the trick, but I'd stlll need a dummy load as the current idea would be to run a slaved SB&4100 and a slaved SB&JCM1 into 1 4 x 12, so I'd still need to connect the 4100 to a load, right?

Re: Where can I get a Dummy Load?
No. By my understanding you can have ALL amps running simultaneously. When you are ready to switch amps, you merely turn the dial. The unit meanwhile provides dummy loads against the "switched-off" amps. After all, if you had to power A off, switch to B power B on, throw standby off, you aren't getting much more utility than physically changing leads yourself between heads.
Bear in mind, my understanding of their product concerns an earlier model of theirs (confirm yourself before buying) but I can't imagine this feature would be dropped as its the heart and soul of the switcher's utility. Thus, you would only need ONE cab for all three amps (unless you wanted to INDEPENDENTLY run 2 or more simultaneously). Thus, if you slaved the 1992 to the 4100 and switched the cab switcher to the 1992, you would hear the 4100/1992 Mix through the 1992 while the 4100 would still have a load compliments of the switcher. If you switched over to the 4100, you would hear it alone (no mix as it is the master head) & the 1992 would be on dummy load thanks to the switcher.

Re: Where can I get a Dummy Load?
I c, I will verify this with the manufacturer and attempt to find/build a dummy load until I get the funds as this may turn out to b quite a little splurge.
It was originally only goin to b a straight swap for my 4100, now I'm thinking keep both AND today I convinced myself to order a Jcm1h |
