My amp

My marshall amp is a modded vintage modern and it is a better amp then the marshall bluesbreaker Ive compared my amp with a TSL122 a JCM 800 A JCM 900 and the bluesbreaker. Results of the test :

TSL was not as good as what i thought my modded valvestate sounds better I know it is not an amp to turn on and play but you must take your time to get a cool rock tone out of it. So a guy helped me to get a good rock tone out of it but my modded valvestate was allways better

The JCM 800 was a great good sounding amp and I had a nice rock tone when i turned it on ! But it was not soundin much better as my modded Valvestate. to get an impression of how my modded valvestate sounds listen to this amp : YouTube - FJA Modded Marshall 2203 high gain 2 this JCM amp just sounds a little heavier

The JCM 900 was a great amp and sounded 30 % better as the Modded valvestate to me. Lets hope i can buy one after a long time saveing my money

The bluesbreaker was horible ! Never played through a soo bad amp.

Cheers.

Re: My amp

What mods were done to your Valvestate? From what I recall, you only mentioned placing a Marshall Guv'nor pedal in front of it. Anything special I'm missing out on here? And no, you can't hide behind "musicianship secrecy" when you make an outlandish comment (or series of) like this...you have to be able to back up these claims somewhat.

I can appreciate you liking the tone you are getting from your rig, but to say that the combination of a Valvestate & Marshall Guv'nor pedal are not only equal to, but greater than, a TSL / JCM800 / Bluesbreaker is, at best, wishful thinking. Particularly in the case of the JCM800 & the Bluesbreaker, you are talking about two of the most revered amps in Marshall history.

*edit: how did you arrive to the conclusion that the JCM900 sounds 30% better than the Valvestate?

I dont know what mods are did.. but it sounds a lot bettter then a normal valvestate i dont know what mods are did because the owner before me did the mods i dont did it. And i dont know if its exactly 30 % better I like it more i think its something like 30 %. And I used a bluesbreaker but realy the modded valvestate was better, and it also was better then the TSL , and i dont said it is better then the JCM 800 i just said my modded valvestate is commin close to that tone but the JCM sounds havier.

damn now i see it must be valvestate.
But the strange thing is that my modded valvestate's sound is between a JCM 800 and a Vintage modern.

i have never heard of a valvestate that could stand along side of a 800
or better yet a vintage modern tonewise !!!

No, it isnt better but it has a special sound, the JCM 800 dist. sounds too heavy and the dist. of my amp a little havier then the VM dist. And its not better but the Valvestate comes pretty close to it.

Re: My amp

The bluesbreaker was horible ! Never played through a soo bad amp.

..... sounds like a case of wrong amp for what your looking for, a bluesbreaker is basically a 45-50 in a box.. i have a genuine 50 and my god the tone is like im playing gods own amp. if ur after down and dirty, it aint for you, sounds nothing like a 900 and never will.

IMHO i double that your valvestate will sound as good as a 800 or 900 cranked man, those thinks cook when juiced, just as all valve amps do, valvestates suffer terriblly at high (gig)volumes with sitting in/on top of a mix. 800's900's justy cut through like a hot knife through butter.
