Controlling JMP-1 with MIDI foot controller??

Hey all,

I have a TC Electronic G-Major which i control using my Behringer MIDI foot controller FCB1010.

If I buy a JMP-1 can i control both it AND the G-Major with the one foot controller at the same time??

If so, is it possible to do things such as have a patch on my MIDI controller which calls up both a JMP-1 and a G-Major patch at the same time??

This is the kind of global control I'm looking for in a MIDI rig, I've just never done it before and need advice from you guys who may have more experience with this equipment and know better than me.

Many thanks for all your help guys,
Steve.

Absolutely, that's the whole idea behind midi controlled rack rigs. I used a JMP-1 with a Digitech rack unit for years.

Connect a midi cable from the "out" or "thru" from your effect unit, into the midi "in" of the JMP-1. Keep in mind that the JMP-1 only has 100 presets, where most effect units have more.

midi rocks if you know how to program it , i used to trigger sampled
background stuff from my keyboard players board at the start of a few
guitar solos , as well as change channels on my 6100 LM at the same
time.

It is cool. I used my Digitech RP-12 to change the patches on my brothers keyboard during some song transitions. Sometimes it was fun bypassing it and messing with my bro in the middle of a set.

Memories.

I only scratched the surface of what midi is capable of. All I did was change patches, very straightforward.

Re: Controlling JMP-1 with MIDI foot controller??

Thats great guys, thanks for all the advice and help.

All i really want to do is have the ability to change from say a clean on the jmp-1 with a little chorus on my G-Major, straight to say an overdrive on the jmp-1 with a little reverb from the G-Major all at the push of one foot controller button. If that makes any sense.

From what I'm gathering, this shouldn't be too difficult to do then. Awesome.

Thank you guys.

Steve.

It makes perfect sense. I had 3 patches...
1-clean - clean channel on JMP-1, with chorus, reverb, delay
2-rhythm - dirty channel on JMP-1, no chorus, a little reverb and delay
3-lead - dirty channel on JMP-1 slightly louder, reverb, more delay

I switched to the rack setup after I got tired of hitting 3 pedals to change sounds. There's another advantage...you can have different parameter settings for the same effect in different patches. What I mean is, let's say you have only a little reverb on your rhythm sound, but more reverb on your clean or lead sound. You can't do that with pedals.

Yea thats brilliant! At the moment i have the expression pedals on my MIDI controller assigned to G-Major parameter values so i can edit the patch in real-time while i play. It can come in pretty handy actually.
