Re: I had Forum Withdrawals

Holy shite, me too... Went over to "The Marshall Amp Forum" to get a membership so as to commune with a few of the fellow members of this site and am still waiting on my confirmation email. It'd be easier for them to go into my account through the phpBB admin panel and just approve me, but...

Glad everything's up and running. Are we going to have to stop uploading images to galleries or what? I've got no problem with that, as I have my own server space. Whatever it takes to keep the bandwidth down and the site running strong.

I thought bandwidth was something Leslie West had to watch out for.

Re: I had Forum Withdrawals

Bandwidth is merely the amount of data (e.g., in gigabytes) that moves from one place (like a server) to another (like a router or user's computer) in one second (or over the course of a month).

Many servers that host forums put a limit on the total amount of data that can be served out to the public per month. Once that limit is reached, the server no longer sends out data, which means nobody can connect to the forums until the new month begins.

Usually, the forum owner can choose to purchase a different bandwidth plan to accomodate the usage. More bandwidth capacity costs more, of course...

Re: I had Forum Withdrawals

So, Leslie West doesn't have to watch his own bandwidth? What about Meat Loaf?

This is all so confusing.
