Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
I'm tradin' my 800 for one!
My 800 is collecting dust since I have a 1987x so I decided to trade it for a DSL, I don't have a real 'preamp' Marshall anymore.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
wow I see... wow did not know. My friend just happened to have one and I was curious how good this thing was.... I mean, he loves it among all other amps he has / had. I guess if you have one of those, you are all set.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
Yeah, they pretty much do it all depending on how you fiddle with the knobs and switches. I get a great modern hard rock sound out of mine, but it also can do vintage and even country if you set it right. I play country out of that thing pretty often actually.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
+1 on the country.
I have actually only been using my DSL for country recently.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
Right? I've grown to like the DSL better than my AC30 and Super Reverb for cowboy licks. Sure, it doesn't sound like either of those amps, but it's got a country character all its own.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
I have 2 DSL's. I've been trying to buy another Marshall. I've looked at different 900's, TSL's, JVM's, and every time I go home, my DSL sounds best. With all things considered, versatility, cost, etc. I think it is the best Marshall.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
most of my youtube demo/clips are a DSL100 if you want to check them out. Most are hi gain though there are a few that aren't.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
If you do the 'Joey Mods' and get some killer pre-amp tubes, you end up with a fire breathing monster on your hands.

Re: Marshall 100 watt DSL head ?
I have 4 Marshall amps.
DSL does rank #4 on my list. It is a good amp, and I would use as my #1 with no problem, but I have other and better choices.
