Delay/Chorus Recommendations for JCM 800

I just picked up a mid-80s JCM 800 2x12 2 channel 50 watt combo, and I'm not having much luck with using any kind of rack-style delay/chorus through the FX loop. Any recommendations for delay/chorus stomp boxes that run through the front end?

I'm using a Rocktron Tsunami chorus that I picked up for cheap. It does from Rush to 80's hair metal pretty well and it's built like a tank. Takes up a lot of room on a pedalboard, though.
