dsl footswitchable mod

anyone ever modded-or seen modded-a dsl so that you could use a footswitch to go from crunch out to crunch in on one side?

Re: dsl footswitchable mod

Hi,

yes - is possible - you would need to drill a hole at the back of the amp to fit a jack socket OR in my case I would disable the Reverb ON/OFF socket as I never use this so I do not change the amp in any way. You tap the two wires needed on the push in/out switch and connect them to the jack socket. Now you can use any on/off switch you like but keep the length of the cable short and don't use heavy cabling. I have no idea of the voltage running across that little switch - maybe our 'Paolo' knows more.

Disclaimer - I did this on my old Peavey 5150 and it worked fine except for the fact that he volume drop was never right. It is a lot better on our DSLs so I think you will find it useful. However ask a tech before playing around as I have never looked inside my DSL.

Cheers Brett
