250dfx signal cutting in/out = problem

I've had this amp for almost 5 years now. The problem is that about every 3 minutes or so it sounds like when the jack on a guitar has bad contacts and you jiggle it a little and it makes contact and the noise comes back, but doing that doesn't doesn't trigger the signal back. The amp just does it's own thing. The signals come in and out as they please. I have played the amp through 2 different guitars, and I have tried all my cables. The amp is cutting signal on both distortion and clean channels with the foot-switch in and out. I know I probably shouldn't have, but I looked inside and found a little 250V fuse that appears to be in tact. I was wondering what else I should check. I don't want to spend the money on a repair. I might just as soon buy a head and sit it on the combo to use the speakers if I had the money, but I really don't. That's why I'm here.
