Do you guys know if most amp techs do this?

I want to re-tolex my JCM 900 Head and cab in a different color, I dont have alot of confidence in my self to complete this job and I was curious if most amp techs that you guys bring your Marshalls to offer this as a service. My head is long overdue for a re-tube and I figured I might just do it all at once. also my grill cloth is in pretty good shape but should i replace that too?

Any color Suggestions ??????

Didn't know that THD were making HotPlates for Gibson now, that's interesting...

Around my way tolexing wouldn't be considered a standard techy service, as it's pretty involved, and most guys would send it to an expert. Might be different elsewhere.

Try contacting a local guitar shop and find out of they know anyone who does that sort of thing. Another source is upholstery shops and cabinet shops.

THD made a hot plate for gibson a while ago, It looks good and its just a gregular hot plate with a different logo made by THD

how about I send you my JCM900 4100 which NEEDS a re-tolex job....you can get whatever color you want, and I'll keep yours in black.
Mine has new tubes too...

i would leave the amp alone, just because it is old that is no reason to change it. unless you are wanting a specific color, but it sounds like you dont know what you want yet so IMO leave it be. and if you want to see how it will look in red take a look at my album. mine is stock in red but a re-tolex will look just like it.

I know you guys are probably right but if i can find a guy to re-tolex my amp head for a good price, why not?. I wont copy your red style though, and I just want the head re-tolexed mainly
