Holy Crap! I can't find any all tube amps in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area with the Marshall nameplate for anywhere near $500. A couple Artist 3203 heads, but that's it... I need to find friends like yours!!! I'd say even if you just want a spare, grab them puppies up fast!

... But that's just my two cents.

Hey Josh! I'm in MPLS as well. All the tube amps at shops around here are quite pricy. I usually check out Twin Town and Encore monthly to see if there's any deals...usually there aren't. Still, I can't bring myself to buy something I've never heard in person. You in a group 'round here? I play in 2 groups that are pretty new to the scene (5 gigs thusfar).

Well howdy neighbor!

I would have to agree and double agree. I think that most shops in the twin cities tend to be overpriced. I've been tempted a few times by some pretty sweet lookin' eBay deals, but just couldn't pull the trigger. I really want to hear what I'm buying first!

I really haven't played out (other than a couple "no-talent, talent shows" that some friends have put together). Not in a band. Just an old boring married man here... I basically get my fix jamming w/ whatever CD I can learn to play along with. But I enjoy it a lot. I definitely have found myself on the eternal search for better tone, which can be a challange for a guy w/out much $$$.

What are your groups? What types of music, and where/when do you play? I always love to catch live music whenever possible...
