ok I have a jcm 800 and I do not know what to make of it. All the evidence that is on it makes it a bit confusing. Please help me out. here's the info:
- Front panel says jcm 800 Lead Series - one channel - It has two horizontal inputs - the Serial number is stamped on the back panel - Serial number is: S/A S1800 - On the ratings section of the back panel is written 2203 - The back says MK2 Master Model 100w Lead The "S" ing the model # should put it at 84' but I didnt think they made horizontal inputs that year. Also, The S/A indicates that its a 50w but it obviously is not. Also shouldn't an 84' 2203 model say "super lead" and not just "lead" on the back panel? I dont know what to make of it. Help if you can!!! cheers |

Re: I need help identifying my jcm 800!
Weird. I came up with an 84 50w as well but if yours is labeled 100w and has 4 power tubes then I'm stumped!

Re: I need help identifying my jcm 800!
ok so I pulled the chasis and it has a drake transformer with the serial: 1471-263/4 and a number on the side of the bell which is 684. I believe this indicates that its an 84'. The 3 digit number could be coincidence, but I read that in the 80's they changed their serial system and the number after the slash indicates its year.
Input on this is welcome. thanx all! cheers |

S/A NORMALLY means 50watts, but I've heard of a lot of S/A amps being 100watts.
