I love my Vintage Celestions. You can go to Celestions website and they have a Tone selector where you can listen to clips comparing the different speakers.

i think i have to agree with you coldsteal2 , most of the stuff i play is more in the
classic rock area, so the G12H 30S are a warmer sounding speaker to me , so for
me the G12H 30S are great sounding speaker when playing classic rock.

i have a 1960 cab with 1968 G12H's in it. They are 25 watts not 30 but there real loud and warm especially when cranked, classic rock at its best.

but sound the same

If u compared the greenbacks with vintage 30s in a competition runing through a dsl100/ Cab x4 speakers..

To see which one cud produce the best sounds of classic 80s metal rock .. who would win?

considering , loudness, lower/top ends, tone and a clear distortion tone when pumped.

H's have better low end, and the 30's have better
midrange

For 80's metal, Vintage 30s > Greenbacks. Vintage 30s are tighter, louder, and hold a clear note when pumping. While greenbacks are my personal favorite, they self distort and muddy up a lot easier and might not be what your looking for in the metal deparment.

Re: Celestion speakers? Heritage? Greenback's? Vintage 30's?

I use the Marshall/Celestion G12C speakers featured in the 425B series cabs. I like to calls these the Jimi Hendrix speakers since they were originally designed for the Hendrix signature series amp line from Marshall. These speakers sound great distorted or clean and can handle the high gain output of my JVM410h.

They are great, but the only way to get them is to buy
a Vintage Modern Cab or Jimi Hendix cab.
You can order them but they have to come from England
from the Marshall factory

I like the combination of one Heritage and one Vintage in my TSL122.
