AVT preamp tube

I was wondering where the tube is located in the avt50h? I have been wanting to change out the tube for awhile now because last year I heard a pop and the amp just shut off. Luckily for me it turned back on and I have been using it ever since. Even though it works still (thank god!) I have been wanting to change it for awhile now because I don't know if it was damaged when the amp shut down. (I play at high volumes because I play in a band) So I thought I would change the tube to see if I could get some better results/tone .

In a nutshell could some one tell me where the tube is located?

BTW the tube I was going to get is a tung-sol and swap out the stock marshall one.

Re: AVT preamp tube

yeah i know that but do you have any idea on where it is located inside the amp and is it easy to get too? You can look through the cracks of the amp and I couldn't see it in site, the back is also a lot harder to get off then the tube amps.

Re: AVT preamp tube

If I brought to a tech could he replace the tube? Because at this point I'm wondering if I brought a techy the tube and the amp if he could just put it in for me because on the amp it has all these hazard signs that arn't on the old ones.

Re: AVT preamp tube

you should be able to replace it by yourself
but if you arent sure then take it to a tech he
probably will do it on the spot for you

the quality of the recording isnt too good because
of the camcorder mic but here is a Jimi jam i did
using the AVT50 with the Vintage 30, im using a Strat with
univibe effect

youll need to turn the player up
4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download Jimi Jam AVT50 with V-30 speaker.mp3

Re: AVT preamp tube

In ballpark reference what was your eq set to and how did you get the distortion (pedal)...?

Is that the stock tube or replaced?
