looks good unless the head is designed to run 16 ohms instead of the (4) ohms

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

Is there a 16 ohm input? All I see on mine is the same as this, a 4 and 8 ohm.

Oops! I see it over there under the lip of the panel!

Looks right to me. How you can have a switch that is 16 or 4 ohms, I don't know, but your manual should say something about it. Also presuming you have a speaker-cable there? (Not a regular guitar-jack-signal cable...)

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

According to the manual the 4 ohm is for combos only(?) I didn't make it up that's what it says so why it's labeled on the head like that is a good question that more seasoned Marshall aficionados can probably answer.

Anyway....

I took a look at the back of my 900 head and 1960A cab and I have the head set at 16ohms and connected to the cab thru the 16ohm input on the right side which would be the same as yours.

So I think all you need to do is move the cable on the cab to the right side input where it says 16ohm.

Also like keefoman suggested be sure it's the correct type of cable.

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

The guitar cable is an instrument cable and is generally unshielded whereas the speaker cable is.

Get a speaker cable, trust us!

(also plug the speaker cable into the 16ohm input of your cab)

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

Hmm. odd. Definitely pick a speaker cable up asap and try that and let us know how that works!

Make sure when you go the music shop you tell them you want a good speaker cable NOT an instrument cable.

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

I believe both 16 or 8 ohms are ok but why do you think the 8 ohm connections would work better coldsteal?

I'm not doubting your advice I just want to understand more about our amps!

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

has any one tried this to see if it will sound better if I switch my TSL 100 to 8 ohms and use 2 wires from the back of the head and connect it to a single 4x12 cab on stereo mode?

Can't do it. It's not a stereo amp.

Yeah I mean it wont be stereo it will be still mono due to the amp is mono (just stereo settings on the cab so it will be 8 ohms) but will it have abetter sound cuz your using 2 wires? like the saying thicker wire is better than thin wire, since your using 2 wires current flows better maybe?

Re: Please Check My Input Settings

I never had the desire to do that. You could invest in heavy gauge speaker cable like I use.

As far as connecting 2 cables I really don't think that it will help it sound better or be good for the amp, but like I said I've never tried it.
