avt 20 vs mg15

I have both an AVT20X and an MG15. Since I purchased the AVT about
a year ago, I have not used the MG. But just for kicks, I fired up the MG
over the weekend and was shocked at how it sounded to my ear. Virtually no bass compared to the AVT. I know that the MG is solid state and the AVT uses a tube, but I cant believe that there would that much difference on the low end at the low volume levels I play at. It has got to be the speaker - 8" vs 10". Would you all agree that it is the size (or the quality?) of the speaker that is making a big difference in the AVT vs the MG? The AVT sounds light years ahead of the
MG. What do you think?

Re: avt 20 vs mg15

i would venture to say that some of the difference could be the speakers, but the two amps have different technologys as well and i also feel like the avt line is a BIG jump from the mg line!
