Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
tonyl, man that is a great amp and eye-candy pic - I need a better camera and basic photography lessons !
I like the special manual, cover and guitar picks that were included. Also, I appreciate the cords that Marshall includes, but I typically don't use them because they don't mention (and I can't tell) if they are shielded (guitar) or unshielded (speaker) cables. |

Hey Jupiter, those are speaker cables, included with Marshalls.
tonyl, thanks for the tube recommendations! Now i know not to overpay for Gold Lions! Any opinions about JJ's? JJ and EH are the cheapest CP valves i've found online, will probably end up buying one or the other!

I didn't have any experience with them, but I got the amp in a deal and the guy retubed it a month prior to the day I got it. I am glad to hear that those are good tubes. Those were expensive; the guy gave me the the receipt to prove the tube change.. |

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
Cool, intense GAS producing pictures ! Was the Zakk Wylde rig pic also taken in the Marshall factory or on the road or trade show ? That head is awesome looking. I wonder if Zakk had anything to do with the design himself, strictly Marshall, or a "team" effort.
Definetly on many GAS lists !!! Thanks for the pics. Oh yeah, yup that is as you said "naughty". I am still getting to know my 2203KK, just had it less than a week, and here I am lusting for another Marshall head thanks to posts like yours.

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
I'm only gas-ing for a new Class 5 combo! Only $400, i know, but i've been spending on lots of stuff that can't be avoided(taxes, travels, medical, etc.) and i'm out of "a real job", so i shouldn't indulge! I know there will be (i hope) a quiet month without gigs, travels and unexpected expenditures where i can probably make a move... or maybe i'll trade a guitar?? We'll see! Besides that the other thing i want is a Line6 Relay G50 and a 1960AV. The kind of gigs i do don't need a wireless and a full stack, but i'll finally feel "complete". But i have to get a "touring" Van first, and that's probably gonna happen first, like in a month or two!

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
No, it was (the picture) inside the "Marshall" factory. It is a stock "2203x" (the Zakk Wylde) with the neccesary modifications Zakk needs; no team efforts like "AFD100" etc. Zakk is a simple guitar player, a "2203x" with "Groove Tubes" 6550 power tubes.
That;s why I stiiiiil dont know what's going on with this head. This head supposed to be released last year (about same period, one year ago) but never did. Also, there is a video from "Musimesse 2011" where a Marshall guy gives a small interview about the new products and when they arrived close to Zakk's head, he said that they designed it only for his current "Berzeckus" tour and it will not be available for production. Now, there is a recent video, where Zakk talks about his amp, described them as "prototypes" of his new "Marshall" signature head called the "Steel Curtain" and that he talks with "Marshall" to add some new feautures in it (maybe like "AFD100" and "YJM100") LED tubes bias, Power scale(?)... Really don't know, but if this is the true reason about why this head takes so long to see the production date, then only happy I can be. Have a nice day ![]() The video:

The lighting isn't from the tubes, it is a series of LED's.

That lightning effect on Michael's 2203KK looked amazing! I have those pic saved to my drive!
tonyl, that new Zakk amp looks "Wylde" ![]() I hope Marshall releases it, but if they do my guess is it will be "limited" edition.

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
Hey Guy's,
I had recently bot a brand new 800 KK from EBAY and one of the tubes is bad, does anyone know where I can buy 1 Marshall branded kt-88, the amp is brand new but I bot it off a non authorized dealer and have been told there is no warranty. Could I buy just one of these " Marshall branded" tubes or do I have to buy a quad and re bias? |

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk
One would not be helpful. They should be a matched quad properly biased and KTs cost a lot of money. You may be amle to use a non matched tube without catestrophic results but it won't sound like a properly biased set.
