Mine were: 3/7/3/6/5/10/on/5/3

Now i'm using V-man's: 5.5/7/8/8/5/8/on/4.5/7

So how u roll, yo?
You never told me how they fared in tbe mix. Jupiter was asking for mine but I was away from the amps, so hopefully he got them now.

2) Closer picture of Alexi Laiho's (Children Of Bodom) settings:

Pretty cool ! I wonder if Alexi bought the 2203KK heads from the same guy on ebay that several of us here purchased from.

Good in a small room, as in:

1. Good in a small room because that's all I/we used the settings while practicing; or

2. Good in a small room, but not good in a larger live setting?

LOL

Option 1.

Same thing i'll do tomorrow! To test it in a bigger room would have to wait until a gig in a couple of weeks! (aug.18th)

So V-man, how do you split your time between the KK and the RR? My two favorite amps ever!

The KK is used at home and the 1959RR is the office amp

i normally set mine 5.6.6.10.5.10 5.8

I tried it tonight and found it to be a bit too dark. I rolled the bass back a bit, turned up the mids and highs and like it alot better.

This amp ROCKS.

Hello, yes I believe he used a booster; on the pictures I gave you will see a yellow pedal, must be an early Boss one (?).

Plus Alexi uses preamps for his tone and his pickup has booster.

Good night

Re: jcm800 2203 - jcm800 2203kk

Depends on how often you crank your amp or you use it with the help of an attenuator. I believe I have mine for one year (Electro Harmonix) now and will change them if not at the end of this year maybe at the beggining of 2012.

Abou 6550 tubes now. No, I never experienced with them inside a 2203KK head but I have played with them in many different amps.

In my ears KT88 is like a big EL34 while 6550 are 6L6 when go into distortion.

It is a matter of taste, really, you may love it, I don't know.

For your information Kerry and Jeff both used JCM800 with GT6550 tubes boosted with an EQ in the early years. Jeff still uses them while Kerry switched to his signature model and the KT88 tubes.

Good night from me and have a nice day.
