Marshall Super Bass 100w
Hi!
I have a Super Bass 100 w at home. I donīt know when it was built. Can someone tell it to me? There is no information on it, but i know that the tubes were changed in 1985. Is this amp a guitar or a bass amp? Iīm not sure. Greatings |

Re: Marshall Super Bass 100w
SB/A means its a Super Bass, but i dont
see the numbers telling much? could be pretty old there was more to the Marshall Serial Number text i missed .................................................. ............... MARSHALL - Tube Amplifier Serial Number, Model & Date Info for 1969-present Marshall amps 1969-1992 with a Serial Number: Amps before 1969 did not have a serial number. The serial number is usually located on the back panel of the chassis but some amplifiers made between 1979-1980 had them on the front panel. From July 1969 to December 1983, the date letter was put after the serial number. From Jan 1984 to October 1992 the model letter first, then the date letter second, were before the serial number. |

Re: Marshall Super Bass 100w
If in original and good condition you have a nice (vintage) collectors item. Superleads and Superbass` are THE shizzle tonewise IMHO. Also pretty easy to convert a Superlead to Superbass and vice versa.
Do you have some pics of the amp? (guts in particular). |

Re: Marshall Super Bass 100w
You can keep it the way it is alot of people
keep them as is. Look around on alot of band photos you will see that. You can go ahead and buy a new plate but keep the old one so you have it if you sell it. You can get the plates on the internet alot of places. |

Re: Marshall Super Bass 100w
I had a couple ones that said Marsha
and Mars! hahah be real careful when you are pulling the old plate, use two flathead screwdrivers or flat knives one on each side and slowly work them up then do the other points so it all comes up without breaking, same with putting the new one on slowly push each side down I put a new one on my 401 used the old gold and white looks cool
