Who took the blanket off my amp?

Just put a set of Winged C EL-34's in my TSL 60......man it sounds like someone took a blanket off my cabinet....sounds so much better....unreal! Didn't realize how tired the old tubes were....man they sound fat, full, & rich.

Re: Who took the blanket off my amp?

I get that when I put fresh strings on, I go from some decent dark metal tones, to this whole new realm of hot rock.

Talking about taking the blanket off your amp, I started using the bbe sonic stomp sonic maximizer last year and it has made all the difference....my DSL50 sounds better than ever!

New strings/tubes are good. I like a warm sound, I don't like it too in your face.

I've had =C= 6L6's before, they were decent, even though i only like 6L6's in a combo, haven't found anyone that has =C= 12AX7's yet.
