Re: help me choose

Yes you should. I have that exact same JCM 900 and loved it alot but it was kinda lacking versatility. The JCM 2000 has everything a Marshall could want. Can do anything a 900 can but better. More gain, More channels, and a tone a deep switch that are super sweet. Also I found the 2000 to be more sensitive to playing dynamics than the 900 which is a must.

Re: help me choose

Re: help me choose

tolerable heavy
The good part is they have casters, so you only
have to load them in and out and then roll them

Re: help me choose

Keep the JCM 900; it will be worth more over time than the JCM 2000 DSL. Go on ebay or some other site and shop for a 1960a cab (I've seen them for as low as 400 with all original components. Besides, Robin Trower owns some JCM 900 heads and loves them.

I paid $630 + shipping ($50 I think) on Ebay for my JCM 2000 DSL100. That was one of the better deals I had seen in 2 weeks of observing sales of them. So, you can get it for < $700 but you gotta be a bit patient, AND BE THERE when the bid is closing.

By the way, the best amp by FAR I've ever had (1960a cab) and since it's a Marshall, I'll never have to buy another one.

Re: help me choose

I've seen $650 - $800 for a DSL50 head on Craigslist. Sometimes a head & cab for around $1,000.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but what was your ebay experience w/buying a head? I bought mine local cuz I was nervous about spending so much on something I couldn't plug in and hear.
Thanks...

Re: help me choose

I bought my 900 on eBay, just make sure you buy from
someone with a good eBay history, ebay stores even
better. Mine was rediculously packed well and got here
in perfect condition.
So my experience was great
