Kerry Kings Sig Model

Does anyone own one? I'm kinda gettin into the idea of purchasing one. After 3 different tubes, one different mod job my 50 watt JCM 800 just isnt and will not deliver the sound I"m after.

Re: Kerry Kings Sig Model

I did buy it! in a full stack configuration (1960's) all around. I use to own an original JCM800 back in the 80's and I thought that was bad ass. But this KK setup is even more killer. The Gate & threshold are awesome, it’s like a moded JCM800 with a power soak. Only thing I wish they did was add a foot switch and an effects loop. Oh well, I still think it’s the most hard core production Marshall ever made. KT88's will kick your ass.

What sound are you after?
The KK model sounds great, that youtube video kdickinson posted sounds bad-ass, but it's still a JCM 800 at the heart of it. That noise-gate is s**t cool though!!
What mods did you get done? Perhaps they weren't what you needed for the sound you wanted?

Re: Kerry Kings Sig Model

This is pretty damn close to the or a sound I'm after out of my head.
YouTube - FJA Modded Marshall JCM800 2203 6L6 1

I'm also considering having this guy mod mine as even after shipping and parts/labor I will still come in way under the 1800 they want for the KK model.

Those FJA mods sound f**kin' great!!
I must say I do prefer the one with the EL34's, it's got more grind to my ears but the 6L6s sound good too.
The people over on Harmony Central all speak very highly of these guys.
