Talking What Marshall Should I Buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I do my tax i wil have about 2grand australia dollar to spend on a amp. i want to get a marshall amp as they rock. My question is which one would be best suited to me. I'm not a amature just thought i get the view from people who own a marshall. I have owned a 65watt valvestate combo be4 and that sounded very nice just not loud enough.
I play alot of classic rok E.g. AC/DC, midnight oil, hendrix, the angels, status quo, rose tattoo, the living end Ect... but also play some heavier stuff like gun's ad roses, alice in chains, the suerjesus, iron maiden, velvet revolver, wolfmother.
Should i get one that is best suited to moderate classic rock distortion and add a overdrive/distortion pedal to give more distortion for heavier songs.
I own a les pual and a fender usa strat. A picture of my pedal board is enclosed in a zip i is able to be opened in paint and is in bmp. Couldn't load up pic as was slightly to big.
I already own a Marshall 4*12 speaker box so don't need to get thebox just nead a head. I am open to a 50.60,100watt head eiter one will be loud enough for the pub.

Alot of the guys you mentioned play the JCM 800 model. i have an earlier version of this it 100w but when i play in pubs its up around 4 or so. you could get the 50watt JCM 800 reissue that way you can turn it up slightly louder maybe 5 or near 6 thats the sweet spot but to tell you the truth the difference in loudness between it and 100w is about 3dB ....not alot and i find that the 100w has more bass response almost deeper or something. i guess you could get the 100w and an antenuator to keep the levels down because you will have to turn it up around 6 for the best sound , but with out the antenuator it will rattle everything with a 1 mile radius, needles to say your hearing will be shot.

If you realy want to spend a silver jubilee my be an idea the are more expensive but they will really sing. i know slash has a signiture jube. ive never heard of one breaking down eitheir while some people tend to find problems with tsl's and stuff. But you will pay for the rareity sound and build quaily.

If it was my choice id get an 800 and an antenuator they seem to have a real good rhythm like a chruch but with more growl great for GnR and maiden and you can roll back the gtr volume and it becomes lovely and clean, great 80 rock and metal, there real responsive to pedals too so is easy to get a boost for soloing.

Hope this helped.

Re: What Marshall Should I Buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JVM 410H. Yeah, it's a bit pricey right now, but well worth it. So many sonic possibilities: four channels with three modes for each channel, reverb control for each channel, MIDI control, connections for 4, 8, 16 ohns single cab or for two cabinets rated at 8 or 16 ohms each, independent gain control for each channel, two different types of effects loops with a mix control for one loop, two master volume controls (say, one control for rhythm and one for solos), oh yeah, and did I mention it is LOUD.
I purchased the JVM 410h in late February of 2008 and I must say that it is perfect: no problems with tubes, switches, fuses, soldering job, transformers, etc. It is a perfect Marshall that I will NEVER sell. DSL, TSL, JCM 800, etc. are all excellent amps that I would never hesitate to own, but after trying them all out, the JVM 410H was the right choice for me.

I was gonna say the Valvestate 8080, but since you've allready had a 65w, that might be pointless:/

Re: What Marshall Should I Buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

take a look at his pedalboard... i don't think a 4 channel head (with 3 modes on each channel, making it 12 channels) is gonna be used all the way...
unless he's happy trowing his pedalboard in the trashcan

i own a DSL100 using the clean channel most of the time... so my situation is compareble with his... what i truly love about these things, are the beautiful cleans, you can get out of it... no 800 or 900 can achive this, IMO
all i can really advice, is to try different models...

JVM210 (less channels, al little bit budgetfriendly)
DSL100 (as stated above)
vintage modern (single channel with KT66's)

try different amps before making a choice... it's what i did, and after 10 years of usage of the DSL i'm still glad i did
